5th Annual Halloween Classic at Open Gym Premier Preview


The 2nd month of the 2016-17 comes to end with the 5th Annual Halloween Classic at Open Gym Premier.  The 202 Team Event features, 176 Middle School Boys Teams competing across 26 divisions, 7 HS Boys Teams competing in the HS division, and 19 Girls Teams competing across 3 divisions.

The results will help kickoff the first edition of the 2016/2017 Team Rankings (Final 2015-16 WCE25 Team Rankings Click here) as well as give players an opportunity to earn invite to the 3rd Annual EBC West Camp taking place on November 26-27, 2016 in Anaheim, California.

Club Name: Gamepoint OC

Hometown: Anaheim, CA

Teams: 13u & 14u


The 13u team is very young. They are a very solid defensive team. They are new to the high level AAU circuit. Goals for the 13u team are to compete in every game, improve their transition offense and become more fundamentally sound.


They are also new to the high level AAU circuit, transitioning from recreation basketball. The 14u team is a great transition team. Understand spacing and can execute well. They are working to become better on ball defenders.

Players to Watch:
Gabe Cummings
Gabe is a 12 year old playing up in the 14u division he is by far the best all around player on program. He can create his own shot and can score at will. He is a rising star for the Class of 2022.

Trevon Morris
Trevon is a solid 13u player. He has a high IQ. At times he will be asked to play up in 14u division. He can get to the basket and has a nice mid range jumper. The MVP on 13u team.

Elijah Price 
Elijah is new to the program. He is a playmaker and a tenacious defender. He is on 13u.

Nic Leedom
Nic is on the 14u team. He has great court vision and his passing ability is phenomenal. He can knock down the 3 ball or counter with a mid-range game. He is small, but plays big.

Team: 13u


The #3 Ranked Elite Sports Club will compete for the #1 Ranking this season.  The team is  well coached and very experienced squad.

Players to Watch:
Skyy Clark

Offensive machine. Can get to the hoop and can shoot the ball well. Very tough defensively and his physicality is unmatched in 2022.

Sam Slutske

Very High IQ Player, who plays team first basketball. Can shoot the ball and get to the basket when needed. His size and IQ help him pull down a lot of boards and blocks.

DJ Dudley

Very physical player on both ends of the court. Gets to the basket and scores with ease. He always ends up filling up the stat sheet.


Club Name: Two One Elite Basketball

Hometown: View Park, CA

Team: 12u

Two one Elite was created by former NBA and Lakers legend, Michael Cooper.  The team is a well rounded team that is athletic, can defend, and has the ability to score from all positions.

Players to Watch:
Nils Cooper
Very athletic and has the ability to create off the dribble; 1 of the strongest defenders on the team; can shoot the 3 and is a solid rebounder.

Nathan Mattera
Very athletic and one of the most consistent 3 point shooters on the team who can also create off the dribble; and a solid rebounder.

Zion Watt

Very athletic and the best defender on the team; can penetrate and get to the basket; also has a nice mid range game and a solid rebounder.

Clayton Jackson
Also very athletic 3 point shooter with a mid range game; can also penetrate and get to the basket; also defends well and a solid rebounder.


Club Name: CYDC Panthers Basketball

Hometown: Calgary, Alberta, Canada

Teams: 14u

The Calgary, Canada based club team makes its third trek to an Open Gym Premier event.  CYDC provides their athletes with the best basketball exposure and life experiences. Not only do they want all their student/athletes to be great basketball players, but want them to be great citizens of society.  They bring with them a fairly new 14u team seeking to gain stateside experience.

Players to Watch:
Jayden Webley
The 6’9″ 12 year old is new to basketball, but should be one to watch for years to come.  playing up in the 14u division he is by far the best all around player on program. He can create his own shot and scores at will. He is a rising star for the Class of 2022. His defense is decent.

Dominic DelRosario
Quick PG that may lack height, but makes up for it with heart and effort.

Club Name: OC Select Basketball

Hometown: Irvine, CA

Teams: 13u

The team is known for running a high school style early offense and half court offense with multiple options. Team focus is on man-to-man defense to groom their young players for the grueling task of being a great on ball defender. The club focuses on challenging its players to compete versus winning at all costs in order prepare for the long run.  Their goal is to keep it grass roots and provide a stable place where players can learn team concepts, the value of sticking to a team through its ups and downs and teaching players the proper way of playing the game.

Players to Watch:
Spencer Escuedoro – Knock down 3 point shooter

Isaac Peralta – Best all round player

Evan D. – Great knock down shooter, play maker and teammate.

Donny Dent – Great ball handling skills, incredible on ball and off the ball defense, team leadership and play making ability. This kid is just 12 years old and plays on our 13u Platinum team and our 14u Open Division team. Great kid all around. Will do anything for his team to win or to improve.
